It has been showcase season this fall in Florida with individual showcases all throughout the state every weekend, the ENG Power 80 Showcase wrapped up the showcase circuit moving the date from early October to late October due to Hurricane Ian. With over 60 players in attendance, individuals were divided into 8 teams and played 3 games each. Here are the top front court performers.
Alana Francis Alana Francis 6'2" | PF Father Lopez | 2023 State FL (Father Lopez) – 6’2 Center – Class of 2023
Francis is long, active and effective on both ends of the floor. Her 6’2 frame, makes her an impact player in the paint and an effective low post finisher. She was one of the events leading rebounders and shot blockers.
Khaija Stewart (Tampa Catholic) – 6’0 Forward – Class of 2023
Stewart has a great body/build and has a high level of athleticism. Her skill set is raw but her energy and work ethic is high. I think her best basketball could still be ahead of her as her skill catches up with her build.
Skye McCloud (Brooks DeBartolo) – 5’10 Forward – Class of 2023
McLoud was the shortest front court player of the showcase but didn’t let her undersized build prevent her from being effective. At 5’10 she consistently played with a ton of energy and stood out for her high level and constant communication on both ends of the floor. She was very active and is deceptively mobile and athletic, running the floor well. She can play inside and out and can guard both in the paint and on the perimeter. Offensively she is a 1-2 power dribble down low but on the perimeter, she has multiple moves and can take her defender off the dribble.
Brielle Marlow Brielle Marlow 5'10" | PF Colonial HS | 2023 State FL (Colonial) – 5’11 Forward – Class of 2023
Marlow is an aggressive and active undersized post who has soft hands, willingly posts up and works hard for low post position, has nice touch around the rim and finishes both left and right. She can play both with her back to basket and face up. She does a good job stepping out to the perimeter and putting it to floor, taking her defender off the dribble when they are not as athletic or versatile as her. Marlow and Skye McCloud were two of the loudest voices in the gym, constantly talking and communicating with teammates on both sides of the ball.
Haley Collins Haley Collins 6'1" | PF St. Cloud | 2024 State FL (St. Cloud HS) – 6’1 Center – Class of 2024
Collins was one of the events few legit low post players. At 6’1 she has great size and great mass and was effective in the paint and on the low block. She willingly looks to post up and get low post touches. Her 6’1 frame makes her an effective rebounder and shot blocker and she passed well out of the post, finding open teammates, playing inside / out.
Janiesia Stokes Janiesia Stokes 6'1" | PF DME Academy | 2024 State FL (DME Sports Academy) – 6’0 Forward – Class of 2024
Stokes is long, athletic, and very active forward who does good job being around the ball in the paint and getting on the offensive glass. She was fun to watch as she was constantly around the ball, pursued balls out of area, and ran the floor hard. She played both the forward and center spot and competed in the paint, playing hard, aggressive and physical.
Other notable front court standouts
Hailey Lenz (Flagler Palm Coast) – 5’11 Forward – Class or 2025
Delaney Cronin (Boca Raton Christian) – 6’2 Center – Class of 2025
Krystin Wolff (Bloomingdale) – 5’11 Forward – Class of 2023
Summer Smith (Merrit Island) – 5’9 Forward – Class of 2025
