This 4-day event displayed excellent pre-season action with a sneak peek preview of some high-impact players from 11 schools in regions 1A to 6A across the state. The following is a list of top performers at the higher enrollment schools;
Karlie Cursh Karlie Cursh 5'4" | PG Dardanelle | 2024 State AR -5’4″ SG-Dardanelle H.S. 2024-This talented junior, pictured above, can play either the wing or point guard positions. Her skill set is outstanding. She leads her team in all categories. When the ball is in her hand good things happen. She can shoot the three but is most effective when she puts the ball on the floor and penetrates. She is one of the top players in the state no matter the class.
Harmony Garner-5’6″ PG-Pottsville H.S. 2023-Harmony runs the offense. She is an excellent three-point shooter but is most effective in finding an open teammate. The Pottsville offense focuses on the perimeter with excellent shooters around the arc. Harmony is very proficient in finding that open shooter. Her footwork on the defensive end is top-notch. She is like a coach on the floor.
London Ingram-5’9″ SG-El Dorado H.S. 2024-As a junior, London has logged many minutes at the varsity level. She now has a leadership role for her team. Her athleticism is off the charts. Her skill level in getting up and down the floor is amazing. Now, she needs to play more minutes under control and use her basketball experience and IQ to help her team play more efficiently. She has a very high ceiling when she plays her game.
Savannah Rangel-5’7″ SG-Bentonville West H.S. 2023-Savannah is an excellent shooter. I was impressed by her footwork and her skill set for getting open. She moves well without the ball and understands the concept of spacing on offense. She’s very strong and is a solid defender. Savannah will be a key component of her team’s success this year.
Savannah Williams-5’5″ SG-Dardanelle H.S. 2024-This junior likes to play facing the basket. Her game is to drive and create. An excellent free-throw shooter, Savannah likes contact and her penetration game gets her to the line often. Defensively she plays the passing lane and her anticipation skills enable her to create turnovers and open buckets on the other end.
Maysa Willis-5’9″ SG-Bentonville West H.S. 2023-Maysa is a highly skilled basketball player. Her basketball IQ is excellent. She’s in full control of the court and has the discipline to run her team’s offense. Not fast, but very strong and uses her intelligence and experience to get the job done. She can hit the three-ball, or post-up down low if needed. Not great at any one thing, but very good at all aspects of the game. I enjoyed watching her play.
This list of players would make my all-tournament list for the bigger schools participating this past week in Lamar. Next up, the lower enrollment schools top performers.
