Malory is an aware guard who is always willing to make the right read, and is always showing off her offensive IQ by moving without the basketball. Where she really stands out is her aggressiveness defensively. She is a great help side defender who always seems to come over at the right moment to affect the play. She always comes screaming in on the weak side to affect the play by keeping her arms up and cutting off passes outside and forcing her opponent into a tough look. Malory is a heads up player who always seems to make the right play whether that is the right pass or by moving without the basketball to manipulate the defense. Her ability to pass her teammates open in the full court is a real weapon and allows her teammates easy opportunities in the lane.
Madison Lee 2023 5’8 Cinco Ranch High School
Madison is a crafty guard who loves punishing the defense from beyond the arc. Her high level shooting ability allows her to be a real offensive weapon, especially due to her ability to punish the defense with her consistency off the catch. Her ability to be a threat to space the floor on the backside of the defense was a real weapon, and her awareness and ability to move off the ball really stood out. She is a knockdown shooter off the catch and is good at quickly setting her feet. I would like to see her work on her confidence with a live dribble, and work on getting into the teeth of the defense.
Leissel Gonzalez 2023 Brazoswood High School
Leissel is an aggressive player on both ends of the court who is not afraid to punish you in the paint on offense and rip the ball away from you on the defensive end of the court. She is active on the perimeter, and thrives in playing the passing lanes, even as an on ball defender. She sneaks back and gives her opponent enough room to think she is relaxed and then leaps up to steal an entry pass into the post. She is a dynamic player with a live dribble who showed a real ability to turn the corner on any defender and get into the paint. I was really impressed with her ability to put pressure on the defense in the lane, whether she was going to the free throw line or finishing at either side of the rim.
Leandria Holmes 2023 5’10 Klein Forest High School
Leandria is a high level guard who plays on both ends of the court and lived on the fast break after picking passes in the passing lane or rebounding the ball. She is aware on the break and made the right reads and constantly created for her teammates and found them with crisp passes that hit them in stride. In the half court, she constantly found her teammates and created shot opportunities for them. She displayed an ability to knock down shots off the dribble from beyond the arc. She constantly hit shots and was always a threat to score from the outside.
Alyssa Potter 2023 5’6 Coppell High School
Alyssa is a silky smooth shooter who can punish the defense from all three levels of the floor. I was blown away by the ease in which she scored from the perimeter and I was not surprised to see why she wore the number 30 after watching her play for a few minutes! She has a very refined jumper off the bounce that has a high release point, which allows her to shoot over the top of the defense and punish them from beyond the arc as well as in the midrange. She constantly attacked the defense to either get into the paint or stop on a dime and rise up over them for an easy jumper. I was very impressed with her overall court vision as well, she made good reads to set up her teammates in the full court and the half court. I would like to see her work on adding a floater so she can score a bit easier in the paint.
