In the three games I got to witness, I saw some solid players who I expect will have a solid season for their teams. Here are some from the three games I saw: Hillsboro vs Peebles (SE Ohio), Hiland vs Laurel (NE Ohio) and Indian Lake vs Bellefontaine (SW Ohio).
Addyson Miles
Addyson Miles
Addyson had some good moments in their game against Peebles. She showed that she can score from behind the arc and her three-point shot is key in her offense. A good catch-and-shoot player and when her feet are set, she can knock them down.
Lily McFarland
Lily McFarland
Loved her leadership qualities from the wing spot. Lily has nice range and does a good job moving without the ball. She can score off the screen and can bury the three! Good court vision and can distribute the ball. Good handles.
Caydence Carroll
Caydence Carroll
One thing that I was impressed with is her ability to play physical and not back down to anyone on the court. She has the ability to play well around the rim and does a nice job rebounding the ball, which includes a good offensive rebounding skill. Works hard and plays witha lot of effort.
Mari (featured photo above) showed why she is such a highly-ranked player with an outstanding performance last week. What doesn’t she do? Mari is such a skilled player in all aspects of the game and is playing on a very talented team. She runs the floor well and can finish strong at the rim. Such an athletic frame, she is a strong rebounder and defends at the rim. Very high basketball IQ, taking her talent to Princeton next season.
Alexis Robinson
Alexis Robinson
Alexis is a player who uses her physical presence well around the rim. Strong and athletic, she is also quick for her position and has a high motor, not conceding any play to her opponent. She also has good footwork in the paint and get to the line. Rebounds well, was the leading rebounder for her team last year as a sophomore, excellent on the offensive boards.
It was a tough loss for her team at Bellefontaine, but Allison continues to play hard and showed her ability to score from both inside and out. While she is a guard/wing who best contributes from the perimeter, she also can get to the rim. Opened the game with a three, has good range and sees the floor well. Can push the tempo.
A very strong physical player who can contribute around the rim. She has a good shot out to the midrange, can play physical and finish at the rim. Solid rebounder and doesn’t let the physical play get to her. Defends the paint and has good footwork to finish. Multi-sport athlete, shared the league Player of the Year award in volleyball.
