Continue ReadingWith holiday events in full swing across the state, the Parkview Tip-Off Classic was a great one to see a range of talent from every position and class. Because of that fact, I am breaking down the standouts from each. Seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen alike, hit the court and put their games on display.
We took a look at the seniors earlier in the Parkview Tip-Off Classic: Top 2023s evaluation. Here are some of the top performers taking the court as juniors this season, but before we get into them a quick nod to Campbell. I was not able to watch them during the event but from the talk around the gym, Brooke Suttle Brooke Suttle 6'0" | SF Campbell | 2024 State GA , and Tai Harvey Tai Harvey 5'9" | PF Campbell | 2024 State GA likely would have been included in this one.
Tianna continues to develop and is beginning to look more and more college ready. She is dangerous off the bounce where she has an improved understanding of her spots and how to get to them from different points on the floor. Her dribble pull-up is effective inside and outside of the three-point line. She has increased her production while lowering the time the ball is in her hands. Which is a sign of an elite-level scoring guard. She is going to fill it up all season long.
Gabbie can play both the lead and off-ball guard positions. She is a skilled passer with the vision to match, making it very hard to trap or pressure her into mistakes. She has the build to play physically when the refs allow it. She can knock down the three-point shot as well and knows when to keep defenses honest by letting it go from deep.
Yasmine rounds out the three-headed monster on the perimeter of Forest Park. She has great length and uses it well on the defensive end. She timed her jumps and stunts very well causing a lot of turnovers. She has good speed in transition and shot-making ability in the half-court. She is a consistent threat behind the arc and has good elevation on her jumper.
Chazadi’s playmaking ability never misses a game. She is a threat to score on each touch with a great understanding of how to use her dribble to get to spots that cause defenses to rotate. Her game against Greenforest was called in the 2nd quarter due to injury but she had already collected stats in the major categories.
Paris is a smaller guard, but she had a big game on the offense against Parkview. Her playmaking ability was on full display as she scored 26 points and added five assists. She’s a good ball-handler and has a jump shot that is effective when shooting the mid-range or three.

Faith got it going in the second half making a lot of positive plays for her team on both ends of the floor. She defended well on the perimeter and the interior. She made some strong finishes at the rim and knocked down the three-ball to give her team the lead in the 4th in a game that went down to the wire.
Jada showed her all-around floor game in the first throughout the game. She grabbed a board and pushed with speed getting all the way to the foul line before dropping it off to a teammate for a wide-open midrange jumper for an assist. She has elite length, making it hard for defenders to contest her jumper which is a big part of her game. She can finish around the rim and clean up the glass when her switch is on. The 6-3 wing has the ability to contribute to virtually every statistic.
Zaynah was the best on-ball defender in her game against Landmark. She seemed unconcerned with her point total and more committed to doing the little things to get a win. She was usually the first one to the floor winning 50/50 balls to get extra possessions for her team.

The way Myla plays stood out to me before she scored a point in a matchup against McEachern. She brings a hard-nosed approach to the court. She showed a lot of scrappy play with a motor that just did not seem to stop. With a relentless work ethic, she made a lot of hustle plays that came down to who wanted the ball the most. She’s relentless at doing whatever she can to get a win.
