We took a look at the seniors earlier in the Parkview Tip-Off Classic: Top 2023s, juniors in the Parkview Tip-Off Classic: Top 2024s, and sophomores in the Parkview Tip-Off Classic: Top 2025s evaluations. Here are some of the top performers taking the court in their very first year of high school basketball.
The young guard has a confident game, especially when shooting the ball. She has nice mechanics and is straight up and down even when catching the ball on the move. She showed her mid-range and deep ball accuracy as well as touch around the rim. She was able to put up 15 points on 6 of 10 shooting. Keep an eye on that type of freshman production.
Danica Taylor

Danica has a nice speed to her game, She plays the game on her toes and uses good instincts to impact the game on both ends. She is most effective driving where she can get to the rim behind a quick first step. She’s a good slasher where her instincts show up again. A willing defender that has the intangibles to be a deterrent for opposing lead guards.

Mikayla is a small, but compact, lead guard with a quick release on her jump shot. She shoots it really well when in rhythm. Defended well on the perimeter and even showed good hands in help situations.
It’s fun watching players develop. I had a chance to catch Asia in her first year of varsity action. She played a solid game using tempo, change of pace, and ball skills to handle pressure. She looks good bringing the ball up the floor and can be a playmaker for herself and her teammates.
Kaleigh took the court for the first official high school game of her career. She stuck to her strengths early in the game and used her athleticism to control the glass. She picked up her scoring in the second half including a tough finish through a foul at the end of the third quarter. I would not be surprised if she notches her first double-double this season as a freshman.

Corrin shot the ball exceptionally well in her game against Collins Hill. Given space in catch-and-shoot situations, she was automatic. She allowed her shot to build in the game starting with close shots and then working her way further off the line to show her range. The freshman guard had a career night in just her second game at the varsity level with six made three-point field goals.
