She was controlling pace, making all the passes, and hitting shots and scoring the rock. She moves up one spot and enters the top 3 in a legitimate class filled with D1 talent.
Megan Reiner Megan Reiner 5'11" | SG Tripp-Delmont/Armour | 2024 State SD – 5’11 G/Wing 2024 – Tripp-Delmont/Armour – PGH Dakotas is no longer sleeping on the long, athletic, and skilled prospect out of Tripp-Delmont/Armour. Reiner has immense upside with her frame and overall athletic ability. A really good jumper that is springy and can get off the ground quickly. Her defensive upside is rare. She gives a ton of effort on that end, always trying to pressure, swipe, and make steals. Swarms her matchup with her length and movement. Had a 39-point scoring performance last season. Has a sweet mid-range game extended, where she can shoot it off the dribble as well. Already a strong prospect, Megan still has a lot of untapped potential with her physical traits. If she can tighten up her handle some, she will be tough to contain.
Lily Klein Lily Klein 5'9" | SG Flandreau | 2024 State SD – 5’9 G 2024 – Flandreau – Lily had a stock-rising summer with Sacred Hoops this offseason. From judging her Flandreau film to her offseason work, it seems like great strides were made. She’s coming into the season with an improved confidence with the ball and as a scorer, by my take. She was at around 5 ppg. last season and I’d say it’s safe to assume that number will rise significantly. She has become more comfortable with the ball and with taking things into her own matter.
Lizzie Pavlis Lizzie Pavlis 5'11" | SF Flandreau | 2024 State SD – 5’11 Wing/F 2024 – Flandreau – Lizzie is a position-less prospect that can battle inside and has quick lateral ability to defend on the perimeter. She translates to a wing that can step in and defend inside as well. Can slash to the hoop and score effectively, averaging 11.6 ppg. as a sophomore. Goes off the dribble hard, without hesitation, and for a reason. Operates in a straight-line drive attacking the hoop. Big season ahead for Lizzie, as an overall producer and prospect.
Mari Richards Mari Richards 6'1" | PF Rapid City Central | 2024 SD – 6’1 F/C 2024 – Rapid City Central – Mari’s projected breakout season is baked into her #15 ranking. She’ll play a key role inside for Rapid City Central. She’s an athletic big that runs well.
Aaliyah Jones Aaliyah Jones 5'8" | CG Rapid City Central | 2024 State SD – 5’8 G 2024 – Rapid City Central – Aaliyah is a starting guard for AA Rapid City Central. A quick guard with adequate size for her position. Not an elite skill set but she has solid skills in all facets of the game. She can handle the ball, a good passer, and can knock down shots. Not many holes in her game and she’s poised for an uptick in all stat categories. She will be relied on heavily in the upcoming season.
Lolo Carlow Lolo Carlow 5'8" | PG Red Cloud | 2024 State SD – 5’8 PG 2024 – Pine Ridge – Lolo was a dynamic scoring point guard for Pine Ridge a year ago, scoring an impressive 17.8 ppg. per MAXPREPS. Lolo has a highly skilled and advanced handle on the ball, which allows her to create scoring opportunities for herself. She can breakdown her defender and pull a three without hesitation. The Pine Ridge offense ran through Carlow, with her having possession of the ball often.
Dani Highum Dani Highum 5'10" | SF Lennox | 2024 State SD – 5’10 G/Wing 2024 – Lennox – Dani is an underrated prospect in South Dakota that needs more recognition. She’s a slashing wing with length that can consistently get to the hoop. Has a good enough handle on the ball to get to where she needs to get. A long prospect with great athleticism and movement. She plays extremely hard on the court, always crashing the boards for extra possessions. Defensively she’s very strong and it could be her biggest strength. Can defend multiple positions and size inside. Plays with extreme pressure on the perimeter, suffocating her matchup. Also, plays with leverage and strength defending in the wing. A college-level prospect that deserves great consideration from college programs.
