She was a clear standout at the Dakotas Top 250 as well as a starter for Pierre last season. At the Dakotas Top 250 she was the best pure post/inside player there. She scored through contact and had no wasted movement trying to score the ball. I believe the event gave her a ton of confidence and she’s a prospect that needs to be recognized going forward.
Mya Determan Mya Determan 6'0" | C Gregory | 2024 State SD – 6’0 F/C 2024 – Gregory – Mya is a six-footer that is highly active and brings a ton of energy to the game. She will battle relentlessly until the ball is in secure possession. She was wearing a brace on her knee last season, so she must have been recovering during season and should be ready for a big Junior season, scoring inside and rebounding the ball.
Ashton Massey Ashton Massey 6'0" | SG Menno | 2024 State SD – 6’0 G/Wing 2024 – Menno – The six-footer with extreme length handles the point for Menno. She’s able to play the point at her current level but doesn’t translate to a natural point guard at the next level. Ashton will crash the boards offensively every time a shot goes up. A good passer and overall ball skills for a six-foot prospect. Makes good decisions with the ball as a passer.
Ryann Nielsen Ryann Nielsen 5'9" | SG Kimball/White Lake | 2024 State SD – 5’9 SG 2024 – Kimball/White Lake – I really like Ryann as a new addition to the 2024 rankings. She has good size at 5’9 and a smooth jump shot. Plays a really solid and sound offensive game, taking care of the ball and valuing possessions. A thorough passer of the ball that makes the correct pass and will swing the ball around to create some ball movement. has a smooth non-flashy handle on the ball that allows her to get to where she needs to be to make a pass to a teammate. Able to relieve pressure in traffic by dribble or pass.
Harley Namanny Harley Namanny 5'5" | CG Kimball/White Lake | 2024 State SD – 5’5 CG 2024 – Kimball/White Lake – Another guard from KWL that makes an appearance on the rankings list. Harly stands out with her three-point making ability. In the action I saw of her, she was super aggressive shooting the three and would take a three if given any time or space. Plays low to the ground with quickness and suddenness. Has a relentless motor and plays at a high speed. Can handle the point spot and create and move the ball quickly.
Bailey Clark Bailey Clark 5'10" | SF Douglas | 2024 State SD – 5’10 Wing/F 2024 – Douglas – Bailey has a posts frame and build but plays on a wing and can stroke the three. She’s a threat from a few feet behind the line when she catches the ball cleanly off a pass.
Maggie Preuss Maggie Preuss 5'10" | SF Hot Springs | 2024 State SD – 5’10 Wing 2024 – Hot Springs – Maggie is a solid addition to the rankings as a starter for Hot Springs with 5’10 length at a wing/forward spot. An athlete that moves and runs well. Highly active defensively and can create some problems for the offense with length, technique, anticipation, and energy. Plays with good overall quickness and speed. Needs some development offensively but is a very strong defensive disruptor and playmaker for her team. Able to create a steal and turn it into instant offense going the other direction. Can quickly get two points off a steal, laying the ball in.
Brooklyn Voss Brooklyn Voss 5'11" | SG Vermillion | 2024 State SD – 5’11 G/Wing 2024 – Vermillion – Brooklyn is a long and athletic wing that can run the floor and defend on the perimeter. A key piece to a very young and talented Vermillion team that nearly knocked off the state champion St. Thomas More Cavaliers in the SoDak 16. A long striding runner that covers ground quickly with her length. An attentive defender that will move well laterally and isn’t afraid to throw her body around into contact to secure the ball. Will play on the perimeter offensively, attacking the middle off the bounce, and also posting up her defender. A true versatile prospect that is a great addition that should be recruited by regional college programs. Already has a next-level frame, she just happens to be on a top 3-5 roster in Class A with a D1 prospect playing in front of her. Brooklyn is not one that should be overlooked.
Elly Doering Elly Doering 5'11" | SF Alcester-Hudson | 2024 State SD – 5’11 F 2024 – Alcester-Hudson – Elly had a productive season for Alcester-Hudson, scoring 13.9 ppg. and 8.5 rpg. She’s a power wing/forward type that plays with strength and her frame well. Not a quick-twitch athlete but she can finish and finds ways to put the ball in the hoop. A power player that uses her strength and frame well.
