South Dakota 2024 Rankings Update
In this article:
The South Dakota 2024 class may be the best class in the Dakotas that PGH Dakotas covers. It’s an exciting class to watch, evaluate, and track the prospects’ progress throughout the years. There are at least six D1 prospects, and South Dakota State University has made a clean sweep of this class, that they clearly have targeted in their recruiting plan. As it stands, SDSU has had commitments from 5 of the top 6 prospects in this class.
In this update, there’s a major stock-riser that falls into the top 10 after viewing her film some more and getting a clearer picture. Also, there are some key additions that are solid prospects that were missed in past updates.
The top three of Katie Vasecka Katie Vasecka 6'2" | CG Tea Area | 2024 State SD , Emilee Fox Emilee Fox 5'8" | CG Mt.Vernon/Plankinton | 2024 State SD , and Mahli Abdouch Mahli Abdouch 5'7" | PG O'Gorman | 2024 State SD , are SDSU commits.
#1 prospect, Vasecka is a transfer from Minnesota a couple years back to Tea, South Dakota. She has rare length and skills at her listed 6’2 height. She has a handle on the ball, can shoot the three, and is one of the better elite passers for a 6’2 guard. She translates to a two-guard in my opinion that can handle the ball off a rebound and can also push the tempo in fast-break situations. Her ability to shoot the three makes her a well-rounded prospect that translates well with her length as well.
Emilee Fox Emilee Fox 5'8" | CG Mt.Vernon/Plankinton | 2024 State SD is the #2 rated prospect and has been on the radar for quite some time. She’s an ultra-skilled guard that is elite in all the skills — including passing, ball-handling, and shooting. Has an uncanny ability to create her own offense and can get her shot off whenever she desires. SDSU is going to be getting a prospect that, though not elite size, her skills and ability to score and create will translate quite well.
Mahli Abdouch Mahli Abdouch 5'7" | PG O'Gorman | 2024 State SD moves up one spot from #4 to #3 in the rankings. She’s a true point guard that has all the intagables, skills, and drive you can ask for. A gym-rat of a point guard that ran the show and made plays for state champion O’Gorman. Starting point guard as a sophomore and state championship on the resume’. Looking to repeat and take on a large role as a scorer with Ronsiek off to Colorado State. She moves up a spot because of positional value at the point guard position. Mahli was in consideration to be moved up an additional spot, and into the #2 slot because of her ability to affect the game from the point guard position.
In this update, there are a total of 140 prospects ranked.
