Benson is a tough team with a lot of attitude and toughness whereas South Medford is a team that plays with immense pace and urgency on both ends of the floor. Jefferson is an up and coming team who play with a lot of style and grace whereas Sheldon is a talented squad outlined by their super sophomore.
Benson – the Techsters are led by Eric Knox, who is a great motivator on the court for his team. Benson has had a history of knocking off huge teams, including their 2019 state championship run over Southridge. They are led by seniors Malaya LeSueur Malaya LeSueur 5'9" | SF Benson Tech | 2023 State OR and Elioanna “Onna” Brown who recently signed with Division 1 programs. LeSueur is the slick scoring guard whereas Brown is a rugged force on the court. Mauriana Hashemian-Orr Mauriana Hashemian-Orr 5'6" | PG Benson Tech | 2024 State OR and Mahogany Chandler-Roberts Mahogany Chandler-Roberts 6'2" | PF Benson Tech | 2024 State OR are two juniors with significant experience. Add freshman sensation Samarah Massey Samarah Massey 5'10" | SF Benson | 2026 State OR in the mix and you have one formidable team.
South Medford – the Panthers are a historied girls basketball program led by Tom Cole, who has led them to the Chiles Center numerous times during his tenure. The front and center of their team is Donovyn Hunter Donovyn Hunter 5'10" | PG South Medford | 2023 State #26 Nation OR , a highly skilled combo guard who plays with enormous passion on both ends of the floor. Kimberly Ceron Kimberly Ceron 6'1" | PF South Medford | 2024 State OR looks to have a huge season in the paint as an athletic scorer who makes a difference. Kendall Fealey Kendall Fealey 5'8" | SG South Medford | 2023 State OR is another big piece of the puzzle for the Panthers as well as Tatum Schmerbach. The Panthers play an in your face full court trap and then continue the momentum on the other end of the court.
Jefferson – the Democrats were amongst surprising teams last season, with a nucleus of talented young freshmen. They kept it close last year against Benson Tech three times as well as a close match-up with Barlow. Now, these Demos are a year older with more experience under their belt. Their talent group includes Abrianna Lawrence Abrianna Lawrence 5'5" | PG Jefferson | 2025 State OR , Charisma Johnson Charisma Johnson 5'6" | CG Jefferson | 2025 State OR , Chauncey Andersen Chauncey Andersen 6'0" | SG Jefferson | 2025 State OR , and Brooklyn Chatman Brooklyn Chatman 5'6" | SG Jefferson | 2024 State OR . Abrianna and Charisma are both talented guards with different aspects to their games. Chauncey is the tough rugged forward and Brooklyn is another talented scoring guard. Look for them to make a splash this season.
Sheldon – the Irish have had several good teams within the last few years and this year is no exception. One of their main players this season looks to be Diamond Wright Diamond Wright 6'0" | SF Sheldon | 2025 State OR , who made First Team All South West Conference last season. Wright is an athletic hybrid forward who uses her length exceptionally well all over the floor. Beaux Bruegman Beaux Bruegman 5'10" | SF Sheldon | 2023 State OR is a talented and keen forward who knows how to snag rebound and score inside. Tori Line is a playmaker point guard for the Irish and Jaidyn Sprouse is a talented volleyball player who looks to make strides at the forward position.
