I don’t have to see players hundreds of times, my mindset is to see as many as possible because hidden gems have always been abundant if you know what you’re looking at so here are some of those players that stood out while I was taking a look
Carlie Edmonds (Clear Lake)
Edmonds (pictured above) gets the #THROWBACK for not only understanding how to use her size but also for the “drop step”. On top of that, she knocked down the midrange and saw the floor, needless to say, she also rebounded on both ends
Lucy Smith (Willis)
Smith scored off the dribble after contact, and her getting hit hard and finishing was nice yet she simply GOES HARD on both ends, plus she dove on the floor for loose balls, let me drop another #THROWBACK
Sai Sai Stewart (Dulles)
Stewart handled the ball well under pressure and showed she could use her athleticism on both ends of the court. She also created her shot yet when she dropped the 3 and got knocked down, then completed the 4-point play, that dropped the mic
Kamryn Billiot-Jones (Atascocita)
Glad I double-checked Max Preps as her name is a tad different on there but nevertheless, she looked younger, 2026, and I wrote UPSIDE, again, I am a real evaluator. She’s long and athletic, that is and will always be the base, she has good timing to block, alter, and (or) deflect shots plus she did a good job getting to the basket
Amirah Gray (Clear Springs)
Gray leaves no GREY area because she JUST DOES IT on the court. Her blue-collar mentality enables her to outrebound players over The Magic Number, which is 6’0, yet she attacks so powerfully off the dribble and her strength enables her to finish after the lick. She also did a good job dropping the outside shot, as well as defending
Emma Butterfield (Clear Falls)
Butterfield doesn’t melt under pressure and her slicing to the basket to either score or dish had me smiling, hopefully, you caught that. She also did a good job creating her shot, the mid to log-range looked good yet her playing the passing lane was definitely impressive
Madison Clay Madison Clay 5'8" | SG Bridgeland | 2023 TX (Bridgeland)
Clay has the front page cover picture because she was simply HARD TO COVER. She’s long and athletic, see above, and watching her elevate on her jumper and drop it consistently from mid to long-range was nice yet she also scored off the dribble and did a good job defending
Sydney Thomas Sydney Thomas 5'9" | SG Ridgepoint | 2026 State TX (Ridgepoint)
Thomas is another freshman that will be a Top 100 player, no if and or butts, I see it coming. I also love her “poise under pressure” to go along with “playing within herself”. She creates her shot and knocks it down from the outside yet her court vision is also ahead of her years
Kendall Ford Kendall Ford 5'8" | CG Glenda Dawson | 2026 TX (Dawson)
Ford has ULTRA written by her name so that means her athleticism is through the roof. Her first step is impressive as she can leave the defender cemented to the floor but her finishes are strong. She knocked down the jumper, did a good job defending, and played the passing lane well
