Al Schell

Al Schell

Al was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Providence, Rhode Island. He played for the state championship team at Classical High School and was inducted into their athletic hall of fame in 2015.

Al Got involved in girls basketball in the year 2000 by accident. He started coaching CYO at St. Ambrose and St. William of York in Baltimore City, and coached AAU with Baltimore Starz from 2003-2015. Al was named 2008 Coach of the year in the Women's Eastern Basketball Alliance (semi-pro). In 2016, he founded Power Move Basketball. He also has 3 years of high school experience at John Carroll including an IAAM B conference championship team. Finally, he established 695Hoops.com to cover girls basketball in DC, MD and VA in 2010.
