Jim Dabbelt is a lifelong resident of Southwest Ohio. Synonymous with basketball in Ohio, Dabbelt is considered by the experts as the premier media source in the Buckeye state for Ohio girls’ basketball. His coverage of the sport spans over 30 years. Also from 1998-2008, Dabbelt was the Sports Editor of the New Carlisle Sun and the Enon Messenger, where he earned over 15 writing awards during his time. He is currently the Sports Editor of the Tippecanoe Gazette, covering events in and around his hometown. The past four years, he is also is responsible for writing the state tournament preview story for the program sold at the state tournament. Jim has also covered the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins for Pens Daily, an internet-based media outlet that has covered the Penguins since 2015, including their Stanley Cup championship runs in 2016 and 2017. Anthony recently graduated from the University of Toledo, with a degree in communication and a specialization in media production. At Toledo, he worked with the student newspaper, The Independent Collegian, as a copy editor and distribution manager. Prior to joining the team at Prep Hoops in May of 2016, he interned with the Adams Street Publishing company and wrote on a personal blog. Tony has been a basketball fan since he was a small child. Growing up in Dayton, OH he enjoyed watching the University of Dayton basketball team as well as the Cleveland Cavaliers and even some of the local high school teams. Tony played four years of basketball at Carroll High School in Dayton, graduating in 2012. After graduating, still wanting to stay close to the game, he coached several teams ranging from 3rd grade all the way to 6th grade.
