Simmie Colson coached club ball for many years and had the chance to watch his daughter not only win a National Championship and become a college All-American, but to play in the WNBA. Because of the lack of coverage on the girl's side in Texas years ago, he promoted the state on numerous message boards which led him to becoming a correspondent for numerous websites including Scout.com and Fullcourt.com on a national level. Wanting to expand the coverage of Texas even more, he launched a blog as well as his website GirlzPrepReport.com and later started an NCAA Certified Scouting Service as well as a Recruiting Service He brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to PGH and is excited to help provide a platform for coverage for players at all levels.
Andrew started writing for Prep Hoops and Prep Girls Hoops in August of 2019 with the goal of furthering his writing experience. He graduated from Plano West Senior High School in 2015 and was a member of the football team. Although he did not play basketball in high school, he did get to witness Plano West win the 6A Texas State Championship his senior year while closely following the team. Andrew went on to attended Texas A&M University where he majored in sport management and minored in business administration. He graduated with honors in 2019. During his college years, Andrew wrote for numerous fan sites while also interning at TexAgs where he covered Texas A&M softball, filmed and recorded interviews for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams, and helped with the production of the morning radio show.
